Capes, kimonos and wraps are too much in trend this season. Everybody is going crazy over them. Some prefer it short, some prefer it long. Layering has suddenly been the fashion statement for most of us. With the current weather, we would have all loved it had it been a little pleasant around. But who stops us in being a little creative even now. There are so many ways of doing layering, and best of all, it almost goes with everything. You could either simply choose to wear a long summer coat with shorts or just add it over a dress. You could either keep it simple by choosing basic colours or explore the option of using mismatched prints. Just make sure that the fabric that you choose is light so that it does not make you uncomfortable and sweaty. Ive always been a big fan of black. Most of things in the cupboard are shades of white or black. When I had to pick a cape, I still choose black. Shockingly the one that I liked the most was available in the mens collection in Zara. I know most of you’ll would be thinking that black is not quite a summer colour. But it has its own advantages as well. It goes well with almost every solid colour and you don’t have to worry about restricting it to only a few pairs of clothes. For a very casual look I tried the cape with a military green bodycon dress. The combination of colors worked well for me. You can easily carry this look for a sunday brunch or wear it at a coffee date. For an evening wear, just get rid of the cape, add a pair of heels and you are ready to rock the evening.
